BioDiesel Product Information

BioDiesel - a cleaner burning diesel replacement fuel made from natural, renewable sources such as animal fats and new or used vegetable oils.

BioDiesel is made from vegetable fats and oils, which are both hydrocarbons. These fats/oils are chemically reacted with an alcohol and a catalyst to create BioDiesel. For every 10 gallons of fat/oil and 1 gallon of alcohol there is a yield of 10 gallons of BioDiesel and 1 gallon of glycerol. The major product of the process is BioDiesel as well as glycerol. Glycerol is used in cosmetics, cleaners or animal feed based on the raw material. The use of agricultural feedstocks as our primary ingredient will allow for BioDiesel to be very price competitive in the marketplace.

Additional benefits of BioDiesel, when compared to petroleum diesel, are:
  • Less soot
  • Less Carbon Monoxide and Unburned Hydrocarbons
  • Less Sulfur Dioxide
  • Can also be used in combination with heating oil to heat residential and industrial buildings without requiring equipment modifications
  • Some fleets are reporting improvement in fuel consumption by 1-2 mpg
  • The lubricating effects are showing that BioDiesel may extend the lifetime of engines
